A NEW DAY

Day is stirring,
Dawn streaks across the sky;
Night is waning,
Its secrets passing by.

Light's dispersing,
Free from night's soothing balm;
Morning's breaking,
Draped with sweet scent and calm.

Nature laughing,
Spreads its genius all 'round,
Enveloping,
A large canvas, all gowned.

Night's approaching,
Silence comes on swift feet;
Day is dying,
May its passage be sweet.
