SONG OF INDIA
The diamonds in their rocky caves are countless,
And countless are the pearls in southern oceans,
The glories of India's distant realm.
In these glowing oceans;
In a ruddy sapphire;
Sitteth there the Phoenix,
Bird with maiden's features,
Paradise - like singing.

Softly from her floweth;
She her radiant feathers
O'er the ocean draweth.
He who hears her singing
Mem'ry no more knoweth.
The diamonds in their rocky caves are countless,
And countless are the pearls in southern oceans,
The glories of India's distant realm.
